It has been an up and down month! Restrictions have changed, people are venturing back out in to the world and we are right behind all the fantastic restaurants, businesses and organisation across Manchester that are adapting and surviving the turbulence of Covid-19.
This month we have: some tickets to a brand-new musical comedy at HOME Theatre; the chance to explore the beautiful Platt Fields Market Garden and a spot of Bowls over in Debdale. Check out the full list below:

👥 Face-to-face clubs: These will be taking place face-to-face around Manchester, in small, socially distanced, safe groups. You must book your place- do not turn up if you haven’t booked.
🎦 Video clubs: Join clubs with this computer symbol on a laptop, smartphone or tablet with internet access – you just need to download Zoom to take part.
📞 Phone In Clubs: Join clubs with this phone symbol on your landline or mobile. It’s free and your number won’t be shared with anyone. All you need to do is call Heather, tell her you’d like to take part and she will set it all up for you, you just need to wait by your phone for it to ring at the time of the club!

Thursday 8th July, Theatre Show-Showstopper! The Improvised Musical
The Olivier-Award winning Showstopper! The Improvised Musical sees a brand-new musical comedy created from scratch from audience suggestions, with unpredictable and hilarious results.
Friday 9th July, Platt Fields Market Garden Hang Out
Come join your neighbours in person in the lovely setting of the Market Garden for a brew, a natter and some laid back games.
Thursday 15th July, Bowls and Brews
Join neighbours on a summer evening for our first ever bowls club at Debdale Park. Whether you’re a pro or a total newcomer, we’re sure you’ll have a great laugh at this early evening club.
Thursday 29th July, Pub Quiz at the Carlton Club
Join neighbours for the return of the Pub Quiz. Teams will be formed on arrival – just bring yourselves and your competitive edge.

Tuesday 6th July, Desert Island Discs
Like the radio show of its namesake, come and share a song and why it’s meaningful to you. This month our theme is: School’s out!
Tuesday 13th July, Shared Reading Taster Session
The Reader offer fun and engaging ‘shared reading’ sessions. A group of people, one of them a trained Reader Leader, reads a great novel, short story or poem aloud. The Reader has the opportunity to give a group of Manchester Cares neighbours free training, alongside staff members to become a Reader Leader. This will allow you to develop your skills, and with support, lead small social clubs. Come to this session to find out more!
Wednesday 14th July, Storytelling Session
Join your neighbours from around the UK for an exclusive Cares Family storytelling workshop! Learn why telling stories is important, and how to use your own story to inspire other people.
Monday 19th July, Virtual Quiz with Ged
Bring your competitive edge, and join your neighbours for our Virtual Quiz Club hosted by neighbour Ged.
Wednesday 21st July, Plant Club
Join us for the the second instalment of Plant Club run by professional horticulture expert, Kate Wels. Whether you’re a dab hand or a total beginner, there'll be lots to learn about the benefits of plants and gardening.
Thursday 29th July, The Cares Family Disco: Andy’s 40th, Join your neighbours from around the UK for a Cares Family Disco! It's Andy’s (from North London Cares) birthday month and he wants to celebrate his 40th with you, bring your dancing shoes and your favourite song requests. Ain't no party like a Cares Family Party!
