Building on our first ever activities in January and February, we are very excited to be sharing our first monthly programme of social clubs. Each club will give younger and older neighbours a chance to learn from one another, to laugh, and to build the types of friendships and social networks that really matter in life.
At our clubs so far, it’s been fabulous seeing people chatting, giggling and sharing stories. We’re really lucky to have such a lovely group of volunteers with us at this early stage, helping us to shape our network and welcome older neighbours to their first social clubs.
So what’s next? We have 7 special social clubs lined up for March which we’d love you to be part of. There’s hopefully something for everyone: whether you join your older neighbours to watch a film, enjoy a night of music at our Desert Island Discs club, a business visit to a photography company, or our Creative Writing club.
At each club your older neighbours will be there, excited to meet you, hear your stories, and share laughter and a good time! Don’t worry about coming on your own, or if you haven’t been before, there will be a friendly face there to greet you. Check out our programme of activities below.
As a community network, Manchester Cares will rely on the diversity, connection and creativity of our network to suggest new activities and to bring new skills to the table to help make the clubs as engaging and varied as possible. So there are lots of ways you could get involved and help shape future activities and we'd love to hear your ideas.
It couldn't be easier to get involved, simply sign up as a volunteer, come to an induction with us, and then you're good to go!
