Springtime usually means lighter days, nicer weather, greener landscapes and happier moods! However for some of our older neighbours it can feel just as isolating as the long winter if you don't have people to share it with.
Our April programme of social clubs will be a chance for younger and older neighbours to harness the spirit of springtime and allow friendships to blossom and connections to grow.
Volunteers’ warmth, conversation and company at social clubs has already been making a real difference in helping neighbours feel visible, valuable and a part of our changing city. Mary, aged 70, told us how important this is for her confidence, and Jim, aged 89, braved the bus for the first time in years to come to his first business visit.
So why not help to put a little spring in someone's step by coming along to one of our social clubs and building the types of friendships and social networks that really matter in life. For our full list of social clubs, please see below. You can sign up to be part of it here. If you’re already a volunteer, then just email Lauren to let her know what clubs you’d like to sign up to: [email protected]
