Tony's Top Tunes #22

Tony Recording

Since March of this year, Tony has been creating playlists for the Manchester Cares' community.

The playlist this week has no theme, it is just a collection of songs that Tony likes and wanted to share.

Listen here.

Alaine

Alaine – Without You

Alaine Laughton, known by her first name, is a Jamaican American reggae singer and songwriter. She was born in New Jersey but moved to Jamaica to concentrate on her music.

Charlie P meets Christine Miller – Sweet Dreams

Christine Miller is a stand out singer with a fine strong voice. She is also a songwriter and I would recommend her album “Word, Sound & Power.” However, this is a cover version of a great song.

All B & Dub Troubles – Hate Is Love

Dub Troubles is a force to be reckoned with in the modern reggae scene for his combined love for 80’s reggae and dub along with an ear for more contemporary sounds. Here he teams up with All B on vocals.

Sersha

Sersha – What Must Be Done

This tune is a collaboration with Sersha, a young reggae artist from Yaounde, Cameroon, who sings serious lyrics about the situation in East Africa nowadays.

Thornato (ft Gappy Ranks) – Rhinoceros (Poirier Remix) “Rhinoceros” is a dancehall gem by Thor Partridge aka Thornato remixed by Poirier. It’s a stripped down remix with shattering bass and muted dub effects.
