We know that this festive season is going to be exceptionally hard for our neighbours across the city, we all may not be able to spend time with our loved ones in the way we would like, and this is no exception for the older neighbours we work with who may be alone this Christmas.
We'd love for you to get involved with Manchester Cares in the New Year, whether you have volunteered with us before or if it might be for the first time, and there are a couple of ways you can.
1) Going in to the new year, we would like to send our friends across the city a special message of kindness and warmth this winter, and we'd love your help putting pen to paper.
To take part, we'd like you to imagine you're writing a letter to a friend (younger or older) and share with them messages around how you've got through this year, and what you're excited for. Follow these instructions, and share pictures with us at @manchestercares on Instagram. 💬
Here's little Sidney delivering our Christmas parcels, complete with letters written by volunteers with messages of celebration, hope and kindness this festive season.
2) Sign up to join us at a group activity. Our Virtual Social Clubs change every month, from Drag Glitterballs to Book Club, Chair Yoga to reminiscing old memories...there's a little something for everyone. ✨
Get involved, just sign up to volunteer with us at www.manchestercares.org.uk/get-involved.
3) Take on a challenge! There's lots of fun ways to fundraise and we really appreciate every little bit of your support. Check out our New Year Challenge and start 2021 off right...
