We are absolutely thrilled to say that thanks to the support and generosity of our wonderful community network, £4,020 has been raised for Manchester Cares' Winter Wellbeing project through the Big Give Christmas Challenge.
That means that this winter, we can help hundreds of older neighbours stay warm, active and connected during the challenging months.
We’re over the moon that 21 people donated to make this wonderful project possible, which means that from January to March 2020 we will be able to:
🚪Knock on 600 doors across the city, helping older neighbours stay warm, active and connected;
🧣Deliver numerous warm items such as scarves, gloves and hot water bottles;
👉 Signpost older neighbours to organisations who can help them with keeping their homes warm and safe, give benefits advice, and help reduce bills;
❄️ Tackle loneliness across the city of Manchester.
Thank you to everyone who supported the campaign, including The EQ Foundation and donors who made the matched funding possible.
It's not too late to support Manchester Cares this winter. Indeed, a donation could help fund fun, vibrant Social Clubs in 2020, helping older and younger neighbours share time, company and conversation in the new year.
For now, we look forward to sharing stories of shared friendship and connection in the coming months.
