Trusts & Foundations

Manchester Cares is a community network operating across the city of Manchester.

Our work bringing young professionals and older people together is designed to meet three key objectives:

  • Reduce loneliness and isolation amongst older and younger people alike;
  • Improve the wellbeing, confidence, skills, resilience, connection and power of all participants so they can navigate a rapidly changing city;
  • Bring people together across social, generational, digital, cultural and attitudinal divides.

We have a growing body of evidence that shows that our community network model really works, improving people's lives and helping people to feel part of their community again. To see some of our data and read case studies, please visit the difference we make page.

Our work is already supported by wonderful investments from Nesta, the Big Lottery and Esmée Fairbairn Foundation – as well as through support for our wider model from Comic Relief and others.

As we develop Manchester Cares over the coming years, we need to broaden our support from trusts and foundations so that we can continue to bring older and younger people together and tackle loneliness in our big city.

If you are from a trust or foundation and may be interested in supporting Manchester Cares' work or expansion, please contact Head of Development Cat on [email protected] We'd love to hear from you.
