Our programmes

Social Clubs

Social Clubs

Manchester Cares' Social Clubs are group activities taking place throughout the week, offering older and younger neighbours the chance to share time, laughter and new experiences that help everyone to feel a part of our rapidly changing city, rather than left behind by it.

Clubs occur during week days, evenings and weekends and include 'Desert Island Discs' nights, pub quizzes, theatre trips, 'back to work' business visits and more. Our network suggests new activities, and brings skills and friends to the table to help make the clubs as engaging and exciting as possible.

Love Your Neighbour

Love Your Neighbour

Love Your Neighbour is our friendship project bringing older and younger neighbours together to spend a little time one-to-one. Friends will be able to enjoy a cup of tea and a natter about all sorts – from work to relationships to days gone by – and build deep and mutual friendship over time that help bring a little of the outside world in for neighbours who can struggle to get out, across the city of Manchester.

Outreach

Outreach

Manchester Cares' pro-active outreach work harnesses the time and connections of younger neighbours to identify and introduce older neighbours to the wider network. We work to improve older people's sense of connection to their local community by helping to build their confidence, independence and power.

Community Fundraising

Community Fundraising

Our third programme centres on you, our wonderful supporters, raising money to make Manchester Cares' activities possible. We need your help to raise money by completing exciting challenges, hosting and attending events, building corporate partnerships, and supporting the digital campaigns that provide another way for older and younger neighbours to come together to support their network.
