Starting in spring 2018, our Love Your Neighbour will be Manchester Cares' friendship matching scheme bringing older and younger neighbours together to spend a little time one-to-one.
Friends will normally meet up once a week to enjoy a cup of tea and a natter about all sorts – from work to relationships to days gone by to Corrie – and build deep and mutual friendships over time that help bring a little of the outside world in for older neighbours who can struggle to get out.
Watch some of our sister charities' Love Your Neighbour friends talk about the value of their friendships in the film below:
If you'd like to volunteer and be part of Manchester Cares' Love Your Neighbour project, we will ask that you give a little more time and commit to visiting a neighbour once a week. It's a bigger commitment than our social clubs – but for that investment in time, reflection and friendship you can get so much in return.
Sign up to volunteer and be part of the Love Your Neighbour programme using the form at the bottom of this page – and we'll be in touch soon.
