Please can you tell us all about you and the challenge you’re doing.

Hi My name is Saadia! I'm 32 years old and work in mental health as a Peer Support Worker. So about me! I love socialising with friends, going on walks, meditating and I recently took on The Gauntlet Games challenge which was a challenge to remember!

What inspired you to fundraise for Manchester Cares?

I really wanted to challenge myself on a personal level and through my own journey, give back to the community. I wanted to combine my personal goals of keeping fit as a way of helping others and helping our neighbours, so this is why I did the Gauntlet Games! Read my full story here.

How did you prepare for your challenge?

My preparation involved running in the park and using the ‘Couch to 5K’ app, which was really helpful. Certainly taking on this challenge has helped me reach my personal goals of keeping fit and healthy, and I’m so glad I took on the challenge.

What did you most look forward to and most dread about taking on this challenge?

I most looked forward to just getting through and completing the challenge as its the first I’ve ever done. I was mostly dreading the monkey bars, but in the end I found they were not part of my race - brilliant!

What is your best riddle/joke?

What do you call a deer with no eyes?

Answer: No-eye-deer!
